Not too keen on either of the Sony Ericsson phones I’m afraid. Read a couple of reviews of the K700i and it seems to suffer from a terribly short battery life (I’m on the road a lot, a good battery’s a must). Nokia 6230 looks smart. I’m quite surprised, it looks like a regular cellphone as opposed to the aesthetic train-wrecks that Nokia seems to be inclined towards these days. The phone has a good spec and, from my perspective, is only let down by the small screen and the camera. Thanks for the suggestions people. Please, keep ‘em coming… |
Sharp GX30… http://xrl.us/c927 sorry about the long URL |
Smitty, I’ve taken the liberty of substituting a new link for yours since the one you added (as well as being very long) was tied to a session and had “expired” when I tried to visit. |
Hey Smitty, thanks for the heads-up there. I have read a couple of reviews of the GX30 (following your post) and it is definitely a phone that I will consider when I go to the store. I’ve never been keen on “clamshell” phones and the external antenna seems a bit 80’s, but the features and spec of the phone are superb and it’s extremely tempting. Nice one. |
It’s always worth asking to have a play with the real thing when you go into the shops. Pictures on websites and the samples on the shelves don’t do most phones any justice. Oh and you’re quite right about the battery life on the K700i, although I can assure you the T630 does not suffer from the same problem. I usually get around 5 days from mine. |
Absolutely right danbee - that describes my usual method of shopping anyway! :-) I’ll get a chance to examine the T630 over the coming weekend as my brother’s just bought one. Shame about the K700i though, it seems to be a really good phone (on paper) but the battery life is a deal-breaker for me. |
I got the opportunity to have a play with the Siemens S65 this weekend (16th-17th October, 2004) and I was very impressed. The phone has a high level of configurability, a very neat set of features and is very useable. I was also particularly impressed with the camera - which yielded far better photographs than any I have yet seen from a camera phone. So… I took the plunge and bought one! I may post further on this when I played with it a little more. |
Nice one, I want one of those lol, they look so smart! I’ve got an SL55, and they’ve just released the SL65, which has a camera in it as well :( |
I’ve been leaving comments all over this website today. I think I’ll finally stop. Just wanted to give my two cents for anyone else looking. Not sure if these are all available in the UK (I’m in Nashville, USA), but this June article helped me narrow down my choices for a PDA phone. See the link at the bottom of my own blog’s post. Ever thought about TrackBacks, DarkBlue? |
I need to investigate TrackBacks J.J. I’m not sure what they are, what they do, how to implement them or how they would benefit you and I! |
I’ve always been a fan of Sony Ericsson phones, and currently have a T630, which I love to bits! A mate of mine has a K700i which is also a great phone (and has a built in FM radio ;)
