The * . * syntax is a lack from DOS systems, man… In UNIX you have to write just *, or you will lose those files that don’t have a “.” in their name :)

Hi Diego, you’re quite right - “*” would have sufficed (it’s amazing how often I get caught out with the syntax differences between DOS and *nix, especially on the DOS side).
