True Believer
I frequently discover new artists or tracks on commercial radio or, with ever-increasing frequency, I am introduced to them by my children (usually my nearly-teenaged daughter). She sits for hours watching Clubland TV, singing along and learning new dances. Or, if my son has taken over the TV with his Wii or PlayStation, she’ll be in some chat-room on the Internet while her iTunes plays away in the background.
So every now and then, I’ll hear something that grabs my attention and, faster than a speeding bullet, I’ll have added new tracks or albums to my own iTunes library. Some of this music might only be played once and then forgotten. But a recent addition has been played 128 times since I downloaded it on the 9th November, 2008.
That track is called True Believer by the Swedish group, E-Type. It’s an awesome track that I have found really hard to define the genre of. It’s Euro-dance, no it’s rock, no sorry it’s techno, or is it trance? Whatever, I’ve found it to be a great foot-tapper of a song, a sing-along song, an air-guitar/air-drum kind of song and I just can’t stop listening to it. And the play count I’ve quoted above doesn’t tell the whole story either - because I repeatedly play this track on YouTube too so that I can soak up the atmosphere of the band on stage (and admire the erotic dancing of Dilnarin “Dee” Demirbag).
I heartily recommend an exploration of E-Type’s music to all three of my readers. Other great tracks by the band that you should at least listen to once include: Eurofighter, Life and The Tide. Go on, give your ears a treat.
Oooooh, I’m always on the lookout for new music so I’ll go check them out. Cheers.
Hopefully you won’t be disappointed Kevin. I love this track but I know how subjective music is and I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste.
Merry Christmas by the way! :-)
