My Dream Car (this month)

For some time I've been considering replacing my aging BMW with a new car. I'd been hankering after a used Porsche 911, but then I saw...

...the new Ford Mustang.

The Ford Mustang was first launched in 1964. The 2005 version of this iconic car stunned the auto show circuit when the concept was shown in 2003. The recently revealed production car is an improvement on the concept in my opinion (it's usually the other way round).

The 'stang is an American institution, both revered and reviled during the course of its lifetime. The car was famously driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 classic, Bullitt. It also featured in the more recent Gone in 60 Seconds (starring Nicolas Cage) and can be seen in many other movies too.

Ford have no plans to sell the car in the UK, but it will be available from specialist importers, albeit in left-hand-drive form only.

Lottery win permitting, one of these is going to occupy my garage.

If you haven't already seen the new Mustang, check out my gallery which features both the concept and production cars.
