Can’t you run it against a non-local VNC server? There are VNC servers for Windows. At worst, you could connect to one, full screen, from a Unix machine, and run it there. Messy :-( |
Well I could also run it from Cygwin (probably) but, again, it’s messy. I’m sure you’d agree Gabriel that it would be much better to be able to run something native… and something which doesn’t have prerequisites (VNC or otherwise). |
Philip: I have downloaded and played with Camtasia and it seems to be perfect. It’s a very capable bit of software with some good facilities and nifty compression on the output video. However, I agree that it is expensive for what it is. I certainly wouldn’t pay $299 for something I would only use occassionally. Thanks for the tip though. |

it’s not free (not at all. It’s quite expensive actually), but camtasia studio does all what you ask for.
It’s nice, but too expensive for me.
I too would be interested in a cheaper or even free (as in freedom) solution.
