The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001) created the highly acclaimed "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" as a radio play that was first aired in March, 1978.

Adams went on to turn the Guide into a book (with many sequels), a TV series and even a movie (awaiting distribution). He also created the less well known, but still widely popular, Dirk Gently series and completed various other writing and travel projects.

A keen technologist, Adams collaborated with software house Infocom to produce The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy computer game. The game took the form of a turn-based, text adventure along the lines of "Adventure" and "Zork".

The marvels of modern technology combined with the power of the Urban Mainframe (a computer only slightly less powerful than Adams' "Deep Thought") allow us to present the original Infocom game in its entirety. Thus, you can now fritter away countless hours in this nostalgic adventure.

You take on the role of the hapless Arthur Dent. Join Ford Prefect, Zaphod Beeblebrox, Trillian and, of course, Marvin (the paranoid android) in this pan-dimensional adventure across space and time and remember, the answer is 42 - so Don't Panic!
