User Comments: New Comment Notification Service

I have added a “notification service” to the “User Comments” facility. Basically this facility provides a means for you to “subscribe” to a comments thread. Thus when a new comment is added, after your subscription, you will be notified (by email) of that comment - allowing you to keep up-to-date with threads you have participated in. You can unsubscribe (cancelling the notifications) at any time as each email has an unsubscription link in it. Registered users can additionally unsubscribe with a radio-button switch on their “add comment” form. Your email address is stored in the database for the duration of the subscription only - once you unsubscribe, your email address is deleted. Note: this doesn’t apply to registered users, as their addresses are stored independently of their subscriptions. Privacy: Email addresses entered for the purpose of comment notifications are ONLY used for the notifications! |
